Summary:
Allows the clinician to express the patient's psychological, social and occupational functioning on a continuum extending from superior mental health, with optimal social and occupational performance to profound mental impairment when social and occupational functioning is precluded.
When using GAF, the clinician is required to disregard impairment arising from physical or environmental limitations. Ratings are made on a scale of 0 to 100.
